iPad as an Effective Presentation Tool

Posted on by erikkarvonen

One thing I remember clearly from design school: Presentation is everything. I’ve recently been using my Apple iPad as a presentation tool when meeting with new and prospective clients. It’s a much smoother process than pulling out my laptop, people are always impressed by technology, and it’s easy to customize presentations for certain industries. iPads make it easy as they turn on instantly, no booting up, and can be used alone one-one-one or hook up simply to a projector. This has become so effective that I’ve been designing custom iPad presentations for my clients and their businesses.

Logos without the Logo: Typeface Branding

Posted on by erikkarvonen

Many major brands, like the ones displayed above, choose not to incorporate an icon or graphic in their logo. It’s easy for any logo to fall flat or not hit its mark, these types of logos are no exception and can be even more challenging when creating an effective design. Text only logos are mainly dependent on the font treatment or customized typeface. And a strong color palette is especially integral to the branding along with all the other elements that define the brand.
